I invite you to explore my internet rug studio and blog
My virtual studio and blog is devoted to creative contemporary rug hooking, a traditional textile art, using wool strips cut into various widths from recycled and new fabric to create rugs on a linen burlap foundation.
On "My Blog" page I journal everyday about my adventures dyeing and rug hooking. In the sidebar, you will find "Rug Blog Central." It is the place to go to link up with other rug bloggers.
On the "Shop for Wool , Patterns and Supplies" pages, you can shop for the fabulous hand-dyed wools I create using my palette dyeing method. These will be available soon. You also can find a thorough list of on-line vendors for rug hooking supplies.
If it is instruction you seek, you will find instructional videos about the basics of rug hooking as well as more advanced techniques on the "Web Classroom" page.
I have just published my new book, The Wool Palette. It is available in full-color paperback from Lulu.com. A direct link to learn more about the book and purchasing information is available on my menu bar and side bar. Just click the icon to learn more.
I am writing a second book about VIP rug hooking, a new concept I am developing to hook gorgeous rugs. VIP hooking combines value-based hooking and color theory.
If you want a challenge, consider joining one or more of the challenges sponsored here, including the TEN-MINUTE CHALLENGE which is helping us make rugs everyday and the 2010 Abstract Challenge which is encouraging us to spread our wings and try something different!
Another exciting new adventure in rug hooking is creating hooked artist trading cards or ATCs. Learn more about how to create these little "shares" of your rugs and swap them with other hookers by clicking the ATC button on my menu bar.
Journey with me as I make rugs everyday!
